It's been a stroke of luck to be affiliated with one of the leading Home Builders and Land Developers in the city, Hopewell, which is considered one of the premier builders in the region. I vividly recall my initial meeting in 2009 with the Sales Manager of Hopewell Residential (Sabal Homes at the time), where we reviewed conceptual drawings of a vast tract of land. At the time, it was nothing but an enormous piece of dirt. However, the sketches indicated plans for Calgary's biggest freshwater lake, a network of paths that lead to a 74-acre naturalized wetland, an urban village, a village market, and a beach club that would surpass all expectations. I recall being cautiously optimistic that this grand scheme could indeed materialize. Having worked in real estate for over 18 years, I have seen many projects that fell short of their initial vision during construction.
Ten years have passed, and Mahogany has gained recognition as "Calgary's Community of the Year," "Alberta's Community of the Year" at the provincial level, and most recently, it has been recognized on a national level as "Canada's Community of the Year!" The vision has been steadfast, and the plans for Mahogany moving forward will take it to new heights never seen before in Calgary.
